True Thermal Break Technology and Condensation Resistance

Series 9000 BF
Thermally Broken Frame Control Damper

Series 9000 BF Damper
  • Thermally broken frames, coupled with thermally insulated and thermally broken blades, reduce or eliminate condensation and freeze-up.
  • Aluminum, insulated dampers, installed as Flanged to Duct install type, create a true thermal barrier between outside air temperature and desired interior temperature.
  • Energy savings are acheived as a result of the Series 9000 BF damper's high thermal efficiency and low air leakage rates.
  • Silicone seals are provided as standard to ensure consistent minimal leakage rate performance and sealing longevity.
  • This grade of silicone and its leakage resistant properties are virtually unaffected by cold winter temperatures. Operating temperature range is -40°F (-40°C) to 212°F (100°C).
  • Series 9000 BF thermally broken frame dampers are constructed with all of the maintenance-free bearing and linkage components used in TAMCO's other high-quality products.

  • (Caution: Never use any lubricants, such as grease or silicone on TAMCO dampers.)

Series 9000 BF Thermally Insulated Damper with Thermally Broken Frames:

  • In conditions of high relative humidity, where condensation and freeze-up are a concern.
  • When there are extreme temperature differentials.
  • If the damper is closed approximately 80% of the time.
  • For air intake and exhaust.
  • Where low leakage, maintenance-free dampers are required for ducted or non-ducted outside walls, or plenums.

ECT - Extreme Cold Temperature Option:

  • Specifically designed for extreme cold temperatures, below -40°F (-40°C) and down to -100°F (-73°C). (See Options for more details.)

MR - Moisture Resistance Option:

  • Excellent cold climate solution for applications where dampers are exposed to extended periods of high humidity or high moisture, such as water treatment facilities, municipal pools, greenhouses and cooling towers.
  • Cost effective alternative to the Salt Water Resistance Option for applications where salt spray is not a concern. (See Options for more details.)

Recommendation:In applications where the humidity level is unusually elevated, or where there are extremely high levels of dust and dirt particles, TAMCO recommends that the damper linkage and bearing system should be cleaned once a year. This can be done by blowing away dust using compressed air. If needed, a domestic-strength steam cleaner can be used to loosen dirt, which can then be blown out with compressed air, along with any remaining water droplets.

Series 9000 BF Thermally Insulated Dampers, including all applicable options:

Leakage Class 1A at 1 in. w.g. (0.25 kPa) static pressure differential. Standard air leakage data is certified under the AMCA Certified Ratings Program.

TAMCO Leakage Class Rating Chart

ECT - Extreme Cold Temperature Option:

  • Blue silicone blade and frame seals are replaced with white, extruded, specially formulated silicone, for reduced air leakage at extreme cold temperatures.
  • Silicone formula is the same as that used by NASA for its Aerospace program and retains flexibility to -100°F (-73°C).

MR - Moisture Resistance Option:

  • All zinc-plated, steel hardware is replaced wtih stainless steel, protecting hardware from rust and corrosion when exposed to high humidity or moisture environments.
